SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man who was allegedly terrorizing his entire family, including his wife and 5 children ranging in age from 6 to 14 for several years, has been formally charged in Sheboygan County Court. 40 year old Lao Jin was taken into custody last week after police were contacted by the Bible study teacher of a 13 year old daughter. According to the criminal complaint, police removed six guns - including a sawed-off shotgun - from the home in the 2100 block of North 6th Street. The children told investigators of being threatened with guns, being lifted off the ground by the neck and choked, being locked in a trunk for two hours, being forced to eat dust, being hung on a nail in the basement, and being hit with a bamboo rod. The children told investigators that Jin threatened on numerous occasions to kill them and the entire family if anyone told of the abuse. Jin is now facing numerous charges of physical abuse of a child, causing mental harm to a child, strangulation and recklessly endangering safety. He made his initial appearance in Sheboygan County Court Tuesday morning.
