SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan Falls Mayor Randy Meyer is back on the job and nearly fully recovered from a serious car accident just over two weeks ago.  Meyer held a news briefing at the Falls Municipal Building Wednesday morning and began by offering condolences to the two people who died in the crash.  He said a letter from the families of Suzanne Jackson and Lew Handley, who died in the crash, meant a lot to him and his wife and he again extended his deepest sympathies to them.  Meyer spent 13 days in the hospital and had six inches of his small intestine removed.  He said his broken ribs are healing and he just had surgery to repair a broken pinkie finger.  His wife, Tammy, suffered a broken wrist.  Meyer reflected on the accident that occurred when the car pulled out from a stop sign.  Meyer, who is blind, said he didn't have to see to know it was extremely serious.  He said his instincts told him that people did not survive and "unfortunately my instincts were correct."   Meyer said he was saved by his seatbelt and urged everyone to use them.

Note:  The entire briefing is attached above.
