TOWN OF WILSON, WI (WHBL) - More troubles for the town of Wilson. Newly elected town clerk Jeffrey Feringa resigned last week just two days after taking office. WHBL News has learned that Town Supervisor Brian Hoffman and a county deputy confiscated computers in the clerk’s office at the town hall last Wednesday and Feringa resigned the following day. Hoffman said Feringa resigned for an undisclosed reason. He said he could not comment on reports of computers being confiscated. Hoffman has been looking into an incident during the recent campaign for town chairman between Supervisor Dan Rostollan and Chairman Dave Gartman in which potentially libelous e-mails about Gartman were circulating. Hoffman said he could also not comment on that investigation which is in the hands of the district attorney. He said current town employee Georgene Lubach has been appointed interim clerk while the town begins a search for a permanent replacement.
