SEATTLE, WA (WHBL) - The Milwaukee Brewers failed to sweep their first road series of the year, falling at Seattle 2-0 on Sunday. Felix Hernandez shut down the Crew to win his seventh decision in his last eight. He struck out nine in eight scoreless innings, giving up four hits and a walk. He’s now 12-5, and his E-R-A is an American League-low 2.28. Danny Farquhar pitched the ninth to earn his fourth save. Wily Peralta pitched eight innings, giving up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and no walks in just 98 pitches. Peralta is now 8-12. The Mariners scored the game-winner in the third inning, on a bouncing wild pitch from Peralta that scored Dustin Ackley from third base. Justin Smoak pounded his fourth homer in 11 games for Seattle's other run. Juan Francisco doubled for Milwaukee's only extra-base hit. The Brewers were 0 for 2 with runners in scoring position, but they still out-hit the Mariners 5-4. The loss was only the second for the Brewers in their last six games. Milwaukee is off today, and will open a two-game Interleague series at Texas tomorrow night.
