ARLINGTON, TX (WHBL) - After rain delayed the start of the game by 42 minutes on Tuesday night, Scooter Gennett hit a pair of homers as the Milwaukee Brewers won at Texas 5-1. The rookie second baseman hit a solo shot in the third inning – and he broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run blast in the fifth that put Milwaukee in front for good. Khris Davis also homered, and Jean Segura went 2 for 4 as the Brewers improved to 5-3 on their nine-game road trip. Marco Estrada picked up his first win since May 24th, giving up one run on four hits in six innings with two strikeouts and no walks. Estrada, in his second start since missing two months with a bad hamstring, is now 5-4. Alexi Ogando took the loss for Texas, giving up four runs in six-and-a-third frames. Mitch Moreland hit a solo homer for the Rangers, who ended an eight-game winning streak. Brewers’ third baseman Aramis Ramirez returned for the first time in over a month after getting over knee tendinitis. He went 0 for 3 before leaving in the sixth. Caleb Gindl was sent down to Triple-“A” Nashville to make room for Ramirez on the roster. Milwaukee will try to sweep its brief two-game series with Texas tonight. Right-hander Tyler Thornburg will start for the Crew against Rangers’ right-hander Matt Garza. Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:30.
