MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Freddy Peralta and Tyler Mahle were dialed in Wednesday afternoon at American Family Field as the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds wrapped up a three-game series. Both starters pitched into the late innings but it was Mahle’s Reds coming away with a 2-1 win Wednesday afternoon to complete a three-game sweep.
Peralta went seven innings and scattered five hits along with both Reds’ runs before turning the game over to Trevor Richards who finished off the final six outs. He kept the Reds off the board, but the Brewers’ offense wasn’t able to catch up.
Daniel Vogelbach finished the game 2 for 4 and was the only Brewer with multiple hits on the day. He also scored the lone run for Milwaukee on a single by Christian Yelich. Tyler Adams recorded a double in a pinch-hit appearance.
Milwaukee falls to 38-30 on the season and are now in the midst of a three-game losing streak.
Next up for the Brewers is a seven-game road trip. The first stop will be Colorado for a four-game series beginning Thursday night. Pregame coverage on WHBL starts at 7:05.
