MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - Starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo made the best of his return from the disabled list Saturday night in a 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds at Miller Park. Gallardo (8-9) worked six-and-a-third innings, allowing only three hits and no runs. He had been on the 15-day D-L after suffering a hamstring injury a few weeks back. Manager Ron Roenicke says he was pleasantly surprised with Gallardo’s performance, saying it often takes time getting back into rhythm after being out with an injury so long. Closer Jim Henderson grabbed his 18th save, striking out all three batters in the ninth inning. The Brewers and Reds wrap up their four-game series this afternoon. Tune in to WHBL for the pregame beginning at 12:35.
