MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - The Saint Louis Cardinals scored four runs in the eighth inning Monday night to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-5 at Miller Park. The Brewers dropped their fifth straight home game to the Redbirds. The Crew is now 2-9 against the Cards this season. Aramis Ramirez belted a two-run homer in the seventh inning to put Milwaukee up by one. Matt Adams tied the game in the eighth with a pinch-hit R-B-I single. Matt Carpenter drove in the game-winner with a single. And David Freese added a pinch-hit two-run double to cap off the rally. Brandon Kintzler gave up all four runs and took the loss in relief. He’s now 3-1. Cards’ reliever Michael Wacha got the win. Edward Mujica earned his 32nd save. Saint Louis out-hit the Brewers 16-11. Yadier Molina went 4 for 5 for the Cards with a double, an R-B-I, and a run scored. Carlos Beltran and John Jay homered, as Saint Louis remains a game behind first-place Pittsburgh in the National League Central. Jonathan Lucroy went 3 for 4 with two R-B-I’s and a run scored, as the Crew fell back into fifth-and-last place in the Central after a two-day respite in fourth. Norichika Aoki joined Ramirez in Milwaukee’s home run department. The Brewers will host the Cardinals again tonight. Right-hander Kyle Lohse starts for Milwaukee against right-hander Lance Lynn.
