SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The Sheboygan City Council will meet tonight as a Committee of the Whole to go over a five-year plan for the Fire Department and the ambulance service. Committee of the Whole Chairman Jim Bohren said it’s been nearly five years since the city took over ambulance service and aldermen will get a report on how things are going. He said city paramedics have been providing an excellent service, but it's been nearly five years and they want to take a look at the financials. Bohren also said there’s been a big turnover on the council in the past five years and it will be a good opportunity to bring new people up to date. He also said the contract for the billing service for the ambulance service is up for renewal and the city will be looking for ways to improve collections. The meeting begins at six o’clock in the council chambers of city hall and Bohren says it will be televised on channels 95 and 990. He also said there will be an opportunity for public input at the meeting.
