PLYMOUTH, WI (WHBL) - Despite a late summer heat wave, plenty of people turned out for the first day of the Sheboygan County Fair yesterday. One highlight of day one was the 43rd annual Meat Animal Sale. Around 70 youth with their beef, sheep or swine had the chance for local businesses, farms and individuals to bid on them. Walter Taylor, Plymouth FFA advisor who assist the youth, said it is a chance for people to reward those who put in the hard work into these animals. Tori Kohlwey had this year's champion beef and Cole Booth had the champion swine. One of the new events at this year’s Sheboygan County’s Fair was a celebrity cream puff eating contest. Eight people from across the county took part in the event yesterday, where a person had to finish one cream puff as fast as possible. This year’s winner was Kati Thiel who represented the Sheboygan Press. The fair continues on through Labor Day. More details on events can be found online at shebcofair.com.
