TOMAH, WI (contributed) - The Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center welcomed its new associate director to campus on Jan. 28.
As the associate director of the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center, David Huffman isresponsible for the administrative operations of the Tomah VA. “It is truly humbling to be able to serve our nation’s heroes in Tomah,” said Huffman, who said has served Veterans for more than 20 years with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Huffman comes to the Tomah VA from the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, Iowa, where he had most recently served as the Acting Associate Director for Resources and Operations and Facility Planner.
Prior to this appointment, Huffman served in various positions including Chief of Environmental Management Service, Equal Employment Opportunity Manager, Public Affairs Officer, Specialty Care Service Line Administrative Officer, Compliance Officer and Staff Assistant to the Director at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System. “I am excited to have the opportunity to bring my experience to a VA medical center and community of this caliber,” said Huffman.
Huffman has held a variety of administrative and leadership positions within the Veterans Health Administration. He began his career at the Columbia, S.C., VA Medical Center in 1985 and has served in leadership positions at VA Medical Centers in Pennsylvania, Nebraska and Iowa. He has also served as an internal consultant on a number of regional and national VA committees and workgroups.
Huffman replaces Sandra Gregar, who retired from the Tomah VA in November 2012.
