SHEBOYGAN, Wis.(WHBL) - There were a couple of house fires in the city of Sheboygan over the weekend. Yesterday morning, about 9 o’clock, a resident at 1107 North 9th Street called the Fire Department to report smoke in the apartment. Fire Department spokesman Kieth Risse said firefighters located fire in the basement of the adjacent apartment which had burned through a common wall. That fire had moved into the ceiling and walls and took nearly an hour to bring under control. The Red Cross is now assisting the occupants. An earlier fire about 7 o’clock on Saturday night extensively damaged a home at 3802 South 17th Street. No one was home at the time and firefighters encountered flames coming from the front windows of the home when they arrived on the scene.
