FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) - A firefighter in Fond du Lac will not be fired from the department.

The Fond du Lac Police and Fire Commission suspended Edgar Ramirez-Tellez without pay for a 24-hour shift. After that he can return to the force.

Fire Chief Peter O'Leary wanted Ramirez-Tellez to be fired for doing work for his restaurant on city time.

Ramirez-Tellez says he did use a computer for research, but didn't know it was against the rules.
