SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The snowmobile trails are open throughout Sheboygan County and the Sheriff’s Department is reminding snowmobilers to stay on the trails. Captain Cory Roeseler says when it snows, the complaints increase. He said they usually involve people taking shortcuts on the trails or taking alternate routes. Roeseler said, "This really disrespects the landowners and farmers who make it all possible as well as the snowmobile clubs who put a lot of time and effort into makring the trails and keeping people on those trails." He said failure to stay on marked trails can result in a fine for trespassing, which amounts to $263.
