Tuesday was opening night in the WIAA Boys State Basketball Tournament. The defending Division 5 state champion Crusaders of Sheboygan Lutheran advanced with a comfortable 73-35 victory over Oneida Nation. The top ranked team in D5, the NEW Lutheran Blazers, improved to 23-0 by routing winless Lena 76-19. Living Word Lutheran moved on to face NEW with a 66-56 victory over Stockbridge. Kohler knocked off Sheboygan Christian 55-42. In Division 4, Ozaukee got a big game from Stephen Street to defeat Milwaukee Career Tech 52-48. Street had 14 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocked shots. St. Thomas More eliminated Cedar Grove-Belgium in Division 3, 55-39. Several games were postponed to Wednesday night because of Tuesday's snowstorm that closed many schools.
