Johnny Jolly reinstated

Packers Defensive Lineman Johnny Jolly
Packers Defensive Lineman Johnny Jolly

Defensive lineman Johnny Jolly has been reinstated after serving a three year suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.   The former 6th round pick of Green Bay played his last game for the Packers in the 2009, overtime playoff loss to the Cardinals in Arizona.  Jolly was suspended indefinately after getting arrested for posessing codeine without a prescription.  He was eventually convicted of posession with intent to deliver and sentenced to six years in prison.  Jolly was released after serving 6 months and was placed on a restrictive probation.  The Packers still hold the contractural rights to Jolly who turned 30 earlier this month.  He was signed to a one year, 2.5 million dollar contract as a restricted free agent in 2010.  The Packers can bring Jolly back on to the roster under those terms, negotiate a new deal, or release him.
