It's a big weekend for Taylor Swift with a shot at a Golden Globe win Sunday and the return of one of her favorite TV shows , HBO's Girls , that same night. Taylor is up for Best Original Song with The Civil Wars for "Safe and Sound" from The Hunger Games and plans to attend the Golden Globes ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. That means she'll have to DVR Girls for later viewing.

Taylor and Girls star and creator Lena Dunham have formed a mutual admiration society on Twitter lately.  When asked why she loves the show so much, Taylor tells ABC News Radio, "Watching Girls is like listening to a song and going, 'That's exactly how I feel!'  You know, it's that relatability.  It's so direct.  It's so smart.  Everybody knows someone like those characters."

As for creating her Golden Globe-nominated song, Taylor was inspired directly by the story of The Hunger Games .  When the song came out last year, Taylor told MTV News, "I had this title that I'd been working with called 'Safe and Sound,' and I just knew that I wanted it to deal with sort of the empathy.  Sort of the more sensitive, sad, bittersweet side of this story."

Taylor wrote "Safe and Sound" with Joy Williams and John Paul White of The Civil Wars and famed producer T Bone Burnett , and the melody and lyrics came together with little effort.

"As a soon as John Paul got out his guitar and started playing this melody, me and Joy started singing over it, and it just, it happened so quickly," Taylor explained.  "This song was such an amazing experience because it was like it just happened."

Keith Urban is also up for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes with "For You" from the film Act of Valor . The 70th Annual Golden Globes broadcast live coast-to-coast Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
