SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The flu is on the rise in Sheboygan County and the Division of Public Health is urging people to get vaccinated and to stay home from work or school if they feel sick. County Health Officer Dale Hippensteel said they’ve been monitoring the number of flu cases with local hospitals, clinics and long term care facilities. He said they’ve seen a sharp rise in hospitalized cases in Sheboygan County over the past two weeks. Hippensteel said it’s the worst flu season they’ve seen since 2009, and he urged people to take the threat of flu seriously.
