SHEBOYGAN, Wis.(WHBL) - The Sheboygan City Council made it official last night. Aldermen voted to approve the agreement between the city and the county to combine emergency dispatch. Despite some reservations expressed by some of the aldermen, the vote was unanimous with 3 abstentions. Council President Don Hammond said there was some give and take. He said the plan isn't perfect but gets the city to the end goal of improving public safety. Hammond said some things are more important than dollars and cents. Under the agreement, the city will pay the county 2 and a half million dollars, but when the plan is implemented in three years, the county will operate and pay for the dispatch center which will be located in the County Law Enforcement Center.
