SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - As the Fourth of July approaches, the Sheboygan Police Department is reminding people about firework restrictions in the city. Ordinances prohibit the use of fireworks and its possession even if they were bought legally.
Captain Steve Cobb said one reason for this is for public safety, noting that most homes in the city are wood framed and shooting off fireworks in a confined area can increase the chances of injuries and fires.
Cobb wants people to assist them in enforcing these ordinances by calling the department if you notice firework use. Those caught will pay a fine of at least 250 dollars.
