WASHINGTON D.C. (WTVB) - If you were in charge of things, would you scrap the paper in favor of the coin so Uncle Sam could save a whole lot of coin. One of Colorado's U.S. senators is backing a proposal to get rid of the one-dollar bill. Senator Mark Udall is among those on Capitol Hill who want to replace the greenback with a dollar coin, and he says it will save billions of dollars. The Government Accountability Office puts the savings at $4.4 billion over three decades.
