SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan’s Washington Elementary School will soon be on the market. The school board voted earlier this year to close the school and Tuesday night the board authorized the sale of the building on Geele Avenue.
Superintendent Joe Sheehan was on Sheboygan’s Morning News Wednesday, saying the decision came from community resident requests to make sure the property does not become vacant and a site for vandalism.
School officials have until September 1st of next year to come up with a deal or the building will be razed. While the board's action will have the district talk to realtors about the property, Sheehan said anyone with interest can contact them directly.
