CLEVELAND, WI (WHBL) - The Lakeshore Technical College budget will be up for a public hearing this afternoon. As proposed, the budget for next school year totals 53-million dollars - an increase of 6.4 percent. The tax levy is up less than one percent and, if approved, will result in a tax increase of nearly two dollars on a $150,000 home in the district.
LTC President Mike Lanser says the increase in the budget is due to the school’s plan to double the number of graduates in the welding and machine tools programs. This, plus renovations to two buildings on the campus, should help match graduates with the current demands local employers have for workers
The hearing begins on the Cleveland Campus at 3 this afternoon, after which the District Board is expected to vote on the budget.
