SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The city of Sheboygan is putting together a plan in an effort to control the deer, primarily on the northwest side of town.  Police Chief Chris Domagalski held a meeting Tuesday night and outlined the problem saying the issue is to determine if there is a problem, and if there is, then the city needs to put together a plan to deal with it.  Domagalski said some options include encouraging legal hunting, holding a special hunt, trapping or hiring sharpshooters.  Jeff Gorr, of Sheboygan, told the group that the town of Wilson recently paid sharpshooters $500 per deer when the local Bow Hunters Association would have done the job for free.  He offered to help police work with the Association, saying, "you've got a lot of phenomenal guys out there that will save the city money and help reduce the problem."  One other suggestion was to crack down on people who are feeding deer, which is illegal in Sheboygan County.  Several other people said the deer numbers have increased drastically over the past several years.  Domagalski said they will now put together a plan which will go to the city council for approval in September.
