MADISON, WI (WHBL) - Some good unemployment news for the area and the state last month. According to preliminary figures from the state Department of Workforce Development released Wednesday, the Sheboygan metro area saw its unemployment rate drop three-tenths of a percent in May to 7.6. Sheboygan County had its rate drop four-tenths of a percent to 6.1. For all of Wisconsin, the unemployment rate dropped one-tenth of a percent to seven percent. All but a few metro and counties across the state saw their individual rates drop last month when compared to April. The report also shows there were 900 more people working in the area in May than there were a year ago.
