According to ESPN and other outlets, Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are close to agreement on a contract extension that would make Rodgers the highest paid player in NFL history.   Rodgers has two years left on his existing contract that is scheduled to pay the former MVP nine and a quarter million dollars this year and 10.5 million in 2014.  The four year extension is reportedly worth in the neighborhood of 100 million dollars or 25 million a season that would easily eclipse the contract signed by Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month.  By tacking on four years to the existing deal, the Packers could structure the contract that will give them salary cap flexability to address long term deals with the likes of Clay Matthews and B.J. Raji.
