At long last, a sunny warm day for lakeshore area high school athletes. In a spring sports season ravaged by the weather, a couple of notable achievements occured Tuesday afternoon and evening. In girls softball, Rachel Romps of Plymouth tossed a no hitter in the Panthers' 2-0 victory over Sheboygan Falls, just missing on a perfect game. Campbellsport swept a doubleheader from Kiel, Howards Grove defeated Sheboygan Lutheran/Kohler 10-6, Sheboygan South rolled Green Bay West 7-1 while Sheboygan North fell to Green Bay Southwest 9-4. In boys baseball, Manitowoc held off Sheboygan South 7-5 while Preble defeated Sheboygan North 5-4 in 8 innings. Finally, on the soccer pitch, top ranked Ozaukee in Division 3, defeated Elkhart Lake Glenbulah 4-0, delivering the 200th career win for head coach Eric Liebergen. De Pere scored with :15 left in double overtime to nip Sheboygan North 1-0, Sheboygan South defeated Green Bay Preble 3-1, Sheboygan Falls got by New Holsetin 1-0 in overtime, Oostburg beat Lutheran/Kohler 2-1 in overtime and Howards Grove got past Sheboygan Christian 4-1.
