MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - St. Louis outfielder Matt Holliday’s two run home run in the third inning provided all the runs rookie pitcher Shelby Miller needed to beat Milwaukee Friday night, 6-1. Former Cardinal Kyle Loshe picked up his third loss in four decisions while facing his former teammates. Miller held the Brewers scoreless through the first five innings, surrendering their only run in the sixth on Jonathan Lucroy’s sacrifice fly. Jon Jay knocked in a pair of runs in the fifth and Carlos Beltran had a homer in the seventh. The other St. Louis run scored on a passed ball. Three Cardinals were thrown out at the plate. Holliday had three hits and a walk in five trips. Ryan Braun, Aramis Ramirez and Norichika Aoka each had a pair of hits for Milwaukee. Ramirez was activated from the disabled list before the game.  Game three of the series takes place this afternoon.  Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 2:30.
