FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) - One of the 24 people killed in the Oklahoma tornado has ties to Fond du Lac County.
Nine-year-old Sydney Angle was among the children who died on Monday, after a twister ripped through their elementary school in the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore. Her body was found the next day.
Sydney’s father, Dan Angle, graduated from Oakfield High School. He now works for Quad-Graphics in Oklahoma. The mother, Nicole Angle, graduated from Fond du Lac Goodrich High School.
Sydney’s grandparents, Mike and Leslie Benson, still live in Fond du Lac.
A family friend, Pam McCarthy, says Sydney’s parents and two siblings have another place to stay. McCarthy called the situation “devastating” and said it’s hard to comprehend what the family is going through.
A Facebook page has been started to promote the Dan and Nicole Angle Disaster Fund. Donations are being taken at Fond du Lac’s Hometown Bank.
