Hunter Hayes will end his year-long reign as the CMA New Artist of the Year at this Wednesday's CMA Awards, where he's set to perform "Everybody's Got Somebody but Me" with Jason Mraz . Though it's been nearly a year since he won that trophy, Hunter still isn't used to being a CMA winner.

"It's so weird to be able to say that still," he admits."It's still an adjustment."

Hunter has his CMA Award displayed very prominently at his Nashville pad to remind him about his big win at last year's show.

He explains, "It's well-lit. Well, it shines. It's very sparkly. It's very cool."

As for this year's show, Hunter will be in the audience watching as a fan when he's not performing.

"It's gonna be a fun show, obviously," Hunter says. "There's a lot of great music that was released this year. So, looking forward to the performances, clearly, obviously, always."

The 47th Annual CMA Awards broadcast live from Nashville Wednesday, November 6 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
