ELKHART LAKE, WI (WHBL) - Governor Scott Walker was in the Village of Elkhart Lake Tuesday to help break ground for a new addition to the Osthoff Resort Convention Center. Walker grabbed a shovel and joined a host of dignitaries in turning some symbolic dirt to get the 20,000 square foot expansion going. He said groundbreakings like this are a good indicator that the economy is coming out of the recession. "When you've got a group here like Osthoff that are willing to invest six-million dollars more, that's a good sign that they feel strong enough that the economy is growing and headed in the right direction," the governor said. Walker then went inside the Osthoff to address the annual meeting of the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation during which Terry Kohler was named the Economic Driver of the Year.
