ELKHART LAKE, WI (WHBL) - Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School students enjoyed an early Thanksgiving meal with their grandparents Wednesday. The school’s FCCLA group held their ninth annual Thanksgiving Luncheon, attended by over 200 people.
Advisor Beth Roehl said the event is a great way for those involved in the group and the school’s Culinary Arts classes to experience what serving a big group is like from the planning to conflict resolution to time management.
As for the dozen plus students helping to put together the meal, the sentiments from junior Brittany Schneider to FCCLA co-President Justin Miller and Dylan Fogeltanz were that the end result of seeing grandparents enjoy a meal with their family members was worth it
The traditional meal of turkey, potatoes, stuffing, vegetables and pumpkin bars took three days to prepare. The group got assistance from around 20 local businesses and individuals who provided donations.
