How tablets are used in Random Lake Middle School

RANDOM LAKE, WI (WHBL) - The Random Lake School District has tablets back in student’s hands following the theft of several hundred of these devices allegedly by a former employee.  This school year is the first for Random Lake Middle School students to be given their own tablets.

According to eight grade math teacher Lisa Knuth, students have welcomed to the new technology.  Like teachers, they enjoy the convienece of having multiple items at ready access to them.

As for her, she sees the change of technology will only improve the ability to teach a full classroom of students.  Unlike in the past when classes had to change classrooms to perform one task, Knuth said she can have students in one class complete various projects and assignments based on how far along they are in their learning.

Unlike the elementary students in the district with their own tablets, Knuth said middle school students will be able to take their tablets home with them starting later this fall.
