BLUE MOUNDS, WI (WTAQ) - Several cattle were killed when a loaded double-decker truck rolled over in southern Wisconsin.
It happened around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday on the Highway 151 expressway near Blue Mounds in western Dane County.
The driver had minor injuries, after his load shifted and caused the truck to roll over. Authorities said strong winds may have also been a factor.
32 cattle were on board.
The entire 151 four-lane was closed until around midnight. Local farmers worked through the night to help round up as many cattle as possible.
None were reported missing. Officials said a couple animals were euthanized at the scene.
The rest went to a rendering plant at Marshall, where they'll be used to make items like pet food.
