(WNFL) - Wisconsin football coach Gary Andersen says the Badgers' second bye week is coming at a great time. The Badgers are off Saturday. Among other things, it's expected to give senior linebacker Chris Borland enough time to get healthy for Wisconsin's next game at Iowa on November second. Borland aggravated a hamstring last Saturday against Illinois. It was the same hamstring that caused Borland to miss the Badgers' final two regular season games last year. At practice yesterday, backup defensive lineman Bryce Gilbert had a walking boot on his left foot. He injured the foot in the win over the Illini. Because of the Big Ten's expansion, football teams now have two bye weeks during seasons that begin in August and end after Thanksgiving. It will happen again next year -- but after that, teams will only have one Saturday off until 2019.
