BOSTON, MA (WHBL) - The Milwaukee Brewers spoiled the home opener and World Series championship rings ceremony in Boston, handing a 6-2 loss to the Red Sox Friday afternoon. Milwaukee put up four runs in the ninth inning, jump-started by a Lyle Overbay two R-B-I double. Ironically, Overbay was released by the Red Sox prior to opening day last season. The Brewers pounded out 12 hits as the offense came to life after struggling in their season-opening series against Atlanta. The pitching for the Crew, meanwhile, remains solid. Brewers starter Marco Estrada was gave up two runs - one earned - and four hits in 5 and two-thirds innings. He walked three and struck out six. Brandon Kintzler picked up the win in relief. The two teams hook up again Saturday night.
