SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - State Senator Glenn Grothman provided more details Friday on why he will challenge Sixth District Congressman Tom Petri for his seat this fall. Grothman, on WHBL's Sheboygan's Morning News, said Petri - who has held the seat for 35 years - is not the best person to push needed conservative values in Washington. Grothman said he sees himself as a better person to help turn around the Republican Party and the nation.
Grothman said he’s not afraid to take stands on unpopular issues and solutions he thinks will improve the country, and he believes this will help offset Petri’s advantages in experience and fundraising. As long as he has enough money and volunteer energy to get his word out about a needed change in who represents the sixth district, he likes his chances.
Grothman and Petri will face each other in a Republican primary in August.
