Cardinals 4, Brewers 0

MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - The Milwaukee Brewers ended a nine-game winning streak when they were shut out at home Monday night by Saint Louis, 4-0.  The Brewers had only three hits - all off Cardinals' starter Lance Lynn.  He struck out 11 in seven innings, walking three as he won his third straight start to begin the season.  Matt Garza also went seven frames for Milwaukee.  He gave up a solo homer in the second to Johnny Peralta, and a three-run blast in the sixth to Jon Jay.  Garza struck out six and surrendered a total of nine hits with one walk.  The loss dropped him to 0-2.  The Brewers also ended a team-record string of 26 games in which their starters gave up three earned runs or less.  It was tied for the third-longest streak in the Majors since 1990.  Two of Milwaukee's three hits were doubles, from Jean Segura and Logan Schafer.  Both teams left six runners on base.  The Cardinals won their third straight, and they're now 30-11 against the Brewers since August of 2011.  The Brewers and Cardinals will play each other again tonight at Miller Park.  Right-hander Marco Estrada faces Saint Louis right-hander Shelby Miller.  Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 6:35.
