MLWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - Carlos Gomez now says he'll accept a suspension from Major League Baseball if he thinks it's fair. The Brewers' center-fielder first said he would appeal any punishment he gets for Sunday's bench-clearing brawl. Gomez swung his helmet and ran toward Pittsburgh starter Garrit Cole, who gave him some words about the way he celebrated a long fly ball, which went for a triple. Gomez said he was upset after his parents called him Monday to say they were not happy about the incident. He told them he didn't mean to do it and, "Things happen in the game." Brewers' catcher Martin Maldonado could also be suspended for throwing a punch at Pittsburgh's Travis Snider. Pirates' catcher Russell Martin, who also did some jaw-boning during the brawl, said Monday he'd fight Maldonado for charity. Brewers' manager Ron Roenicke said both sides got heated up, and things just got emotional.
