SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Flexible scheduling is coming to Sheboygan South High School. By a 7 to 1 vote Tuesday evening, Sheboygan’s Board of Education approved the implementation of this program, beginning in the 2015-16 school year.
Flexible scheduling means students will have varying class lengths depending on what subjects they take. South High Principle Mike Trimberger described the scheduling as similar to what occurs in post secondary education. But with high school, support is available for students when outside class to meet with teachers and staff in resource rooms, library and commons area.
North High School will keep the traditional set period time scheduling. However, Principal Jason Bull said they will be meeting with staff, students and community members over the coming months to come up with programs to improve student and staff interactions with each other during the school day.
