SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan Police have released more information regarding a homicide investigation that has one person dead and one person in custody.
Captain Jim Veeser said officers found the body of the 41 year old male victim at his apartment on Meadowland Drive early Thursday morning. They were asked to go there after the victim's ex-wife contacted them with concerns about the person's whereabouts. The victim's 17 year old son was also at the apartment - living there - and was taken into custody.
Veeser said the victim may have been dead for a number of days based on the actions of the suspect and the unknown whereabouts of the victim prior to Thursday. An autopsy of the body was performed Thursday, and the investigation into the murder continues.
Police have not released the identities of the victim or suspect. Veeser did say that the victim was a supervisor at NEMAC Corporation and had moved to the area from Panama in the 1990s. He was considered a role model by family and friends, and was respected within the community.
Police have requested a charge of first degree intentional homicide against the suspect. District Attorney Joe DeCecco said charges may be filed on Monday at the earliest.
