SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - There are a number of activities taking place in the area to celebrate Independence Day. most of them are in the City of Sheboygan.
One of the highlights of the day is the annual parade. It will begin at 9 a.m. at the corner of North 8th Street and Center Avenue. The route takes the parade north on 8th to Michigan, heads east to Brighton Drive, then south on Broughton Drive to the YMCA. Following the parade there will be a number of activities in Deland Park and the downtown area. Some of these include a carnival on South Pier, a fest at the Military Heritage Museum, the Art Armada at Riverview Park, and a musical review at Fountain Park. The day concludes with a fireworks display along the shoreline at dusk.
It is not just Sheboygan that will be celebrating Independence Day as other communities in Sheboygan County have activities planned.
-In the Village of Kohler, they will have their annual picnic at Ravine Park starting at 6 p.m. this evening. This includes a Sousa concert at 8 and a fireworks show around 9:15.
-Also celebrating the holiday is the Village of Elkhart Lake with a three day picnic put on by the area’s volunteer fire department. Live music is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Fireman’s Park. Also scheduled is a fireworks show for this evening around 9:30, and a parade on Sunday starting at 11:30.
