SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - “To fee or not to fee, that is the question" - garbage fee, that is. The garbage fee in the city of Sheboygan, which brings in nearly a million dollars in revenue, is set to expire at the end of the year, but there are some aldermen that favor extending it, and they say committees need to know whether it’s in or out as they prepare departmental budgets. Therefore, the city council Monday night approved a motion by Alderman Jim Bohren to have documents prepared to extend the fee for one year. The vote was 9 to 5. Alderman Joe Heidemann said it would be easier and cleaner for committees to work on departmental budgets if that issue is decided. The issue is expected to come to a vote during the council’s August 18th meeting.
