MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - A two-run homer from Lucas Duda in the ninth inning ended Milwaukee’s four-game winning streak, but the Brewers maintained a three-game division lead. Both St. Louis and Pittsburgh also lost Friday. Duda’s home run capped a three-run rally in New York’s 3-2 victory and wasted a strong effort by Brewer right-hander Yovani Galladro. Closer Francisco Rodriguez had a two-run lead to protect when he came into the game. David Wright knocked in Daniel Murphy to cut the lead in half, then Duda put the Mets up to stay. Gallardo had pitched seven and two-thirds innings, allowing just four singles and striking out eight. He’s now gone five weeks without a win. The Brewers runs scored on an infield out by Aramis Ramirez and the 15th home run of the season off the bat of Carlos Gomez. The two teams will battle again Saturday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 5:35.
