UNDATED (WHBL) - The buzz about David Price grew on Monday after Fox Sports reported that the Milwaukee Brewers have at least a chance to get Tampa's left-handed ace for the stretch run. Tampa Bay is reportedly asking for a series of prospects, including young Brewers' starter Jimmy Nelson. But it's unknown if that's enough, since Saint Louis, Seattle, and the L-A Dodgers are reportedly ready to offer established big league talent to get Price. Brewers' G-M Doug Melvin says Tampa might hang onto Price, since the Rays have gotten hot lately and they're now just four-and-a-half games away from an American League Wild Card spot. Price leads the Majors with 183 strikeouts, and was the A-L Cy Young winner in 2012. He's eligible for salary arbitration after the season, which means the team that gets him would have to sign him to a long-term deal to keep him into next year. Price is scheduled to pitch Wednesday against Milwaukee, but there's been speculation that he'll be held back.
