SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan woman has been charged for unlawfully cashing and using checks totaling over $6,700. 31 year old Adelia Beecher faces 16 forgery counts for her alleged actions during the first three months of the year.
According to the criminal complaint, a Sheriff’s Department investigation found a Town of Sheboygan resident had 28 checks used without his permission. The victim blamed Beecher, who had been living with him since last November. Authorities found Beecher would use the checks mostly either at Wal-Mart for purchases, which were then returned for cash back, or were written out to other people so they could cash them for her.
She now faces up to six year in prison for each charge.
