South High Varsity Dance Team Takes First Place in Hip Hop at State Competition

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The South High School varsity dance team earned first place in the hip hop category at the State Dance Championships in February. This marks the team’s fourth hip hop championship within the past five years and is the team’s eighth year in a row finishing in the top three at the state competition. The team also took fourth place in the  Division 2 pom category. In addition, team member Alina Xiong danced her way to becoming an All State finalist.  

To qualify for the state competition, the South High School varsity dance team earned first place in the Division 1 hip hop category and finished in third place for Division 2 pom at the Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches Eastern Regional Competition at DC Everest High School.
