SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man is in the slammer this morning after a wild ride on Sheboygan’s southeast side. Police said they received a report of a hit and run vehicle hitting 2 parked cars in the 1200 block of South 10th Street around 3:30 Wednesday morning and, 20 minutes later, received a report of a car stuck on the curb at South 10th and Mead. Sgt. Tim Patton said officers pulled up behind the car and that’s when the 20 year old Sheboygan man backed into the squad, causing minor damage, and then took off. Officers pursued the vehicle at speeds of 45 miles an hour, but terminated the chase after a few minutes. A few minutes later they located the vehicle at Lakeshore Drive and Washington Avenue, where it had crashed through the chain link fence of the water treatment plant. The driver, who was on probation, wasn’t injured. He was arrested on charges of drunk driving, eluding, and several counts of hit and run.
