Pirates 4, Brewers 1

MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) - The Pittsburgh Pirates scored three runs in the ninth inning Wednesday night to beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-1 at Miller Park.  The Brewers ended a three-game winning streak, and the Pirates won at Miller Park for the first time in their last six tries.  Chris Stewart broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run single off closer Francisco Rodriguez, who took the loss and dropped to 1-1.  Starling Marte drove in Pittsburgh's final run with a double to deep center.  The three runs increased K-Rod's E-R-A from .45 to 1.64.  Tony Watson got the win in relief.  He threw a scoreless eighth inning to improve to 4-0.  Mark Melancon worked around a two-out single in the ninth for his fifth save.  Milwaukee's offense went cold again, mustering only six hits.  Two of them came in the fifth inning before Jeff Bianchi hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Khris Davis for Milwaukee's only run.  Ryan Braun had two hits, as the Brewers went 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position.  Milwaukee will try to win its three-game set against the Pirates this afternoon at Miller Park.  Right-hander Yovani Gallardo starts for the Crew against Pittsburgh left-hander Wandy Rodriguez.  Pregame coverage on WHBL begins at 11:35 this morning.
