SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan County’s housing market continues to see a decline in home prices this year.
According to April figures provided by the Wisconsin Realtors Association, the median price for a home is down just over $10,000 from the same month last year. Through the first four months of 2014, the median price is down 6.3 percent. While home sales last month equaled 2013 numbers, the county is down 14 for the year compared to this time last year.
For the state as a whole, home sales are down nine percent so far this year, but home prices are up 3.8-percent. WRA officials blame the cold winter, higher mortgage rates and higher home prices for the lower sales numbers.
